RALI and the Royal Spanish Cycling Federation: A Commitment Strengthened Through 2027

In April 2025, RALI became an official sponsor of the Royal Spanish Cycling Federation (RFEC). In 2026, we took it a step further: we strengthened that commitment and will continue to support the Federation and the Spanish National Team through 2027.

A partnership designed for the long term

From the outset, the agreement with the RFEC has had a clear objective: to support Spanish cycling at all levels, from the youth categories to the elite level. RALI serves as a technical sponsor of the national teams, with a particular focus on road racing, and collaborates on initiatives to promote women’s cycling.

When the agreement was signed, José Vicioso, president of the RFEC, emphasized that this partnership, “based on trust between the two organizations,” would allow the Federation to “continue growing alongside a leading company.” Extending the sponsorship through 2027 is the best indication that this trust remains strong.

Montreal 2026: The National Team at the World Cup

From September 20 to 27, 2026, Montreal (Canada) hosted the Road World Cycling Championships. The city was hosting the event again 52 years later: in 1974, it was held outside of Europe for the first time. The road races finished on a 13.4-kilometer circuit around Mont-Royal, with 269 meters of elevation gain per lap and climbs such as the Voie Camillien-Houde and the Chemin de la Polytechnique, featuring gradients of over 11%. The men’s elite race covered 273.7 km and featured more than 3,800 meters of elevation gain, making it one of the most demanding courses in recent years.

The Spanish National Team traveled with teams in all categories, and with “RALI” on their jerseys:

  • Men’s Elite. Head Coach: Alejandro Valverde. Team: Juan Ayuso (team leader), Enric Mas, Iván Romeo, Carlos Verona, Raúl García Pierna, Marcel Camprubí, Igor Arrieta, and Markel Beloki.
  • Women’s Elite. Head Coach: Gema Pascual. Team: Mavi García, Paula Blasi, Usoa Ostolaza, Mireia Benito, Sara Martín, and Sandra Alonso.
  • Under-23: Héctor Álvarez and Paula Ostiz as role models.
  • Junior: Benjamín Noval and Alejandra Neira, among others.

The results: a generation that’s coming on strong.

The time trials yielded two medals for Spain and a clear sign of things to come:

  • 🥇 Benjamín Noval, junior time trial world champion. The 17-year-old from Asturias won the 20.3-km race in 25:17, beating Belgium’s Vic De Smet by six seconds.
  • 🥉 Héctor Álvarez wins bronze in the U-23 time trial. A podium with a local touch: Héctor is from Alicante.
  • Mixed team relay: sixth place for Iván Romeo, Eñaut Urkaregi, Héctor Álvarez, Mireia Benito, Sandra Alonso, and Paula Blasi, 1:10 behind Italy. The men’s leg posted the third-fastest split time.
  • Other results: Iván Romeo, 15th in the elite time trial; Paula Blasi, 18th in the elite women’s race; Paula Ostiz, 12th in the U-23 race; and Alejandra Neira, 9th in the junior race.

Beyond the medals, Montreal confirmed something that motivates us in particular: Spanish cycling has a strong pool of young talent with a bright future. Supporting that generation is precisely the purpose of our commitment to the Federation.

More Than Just a Sponsorship

For RALI, supporting the national team is a way to give back to cycling what cycling gives us. We’ve been in this world for over 40 years, and we believe that cycling can transform society—from elite competition to those who just go for a ride on the weekend.
