The Future is Already Pedaling
A Passion that Started Early
At just 14 years old, Ximo Bañuls already knows what it means to be a Spanish road champion. Born in Castalla (Alicante), he started riding a bike at the age of seven and soon discovered that this was not just a simple pastime: cycling became part of his way of life. In 2019 he started competing and, since then, his progression has been constant, going through all the base categories—beginner, cadet and junior—until becoming one of the most promising names in Spanish cycling.
Learning and First Victories
The Castalla cycling club, his local team, has been his home since day one. There he learned the basics: discipline, effort and the importance of enjoying the journey. Already in his second year as alevín, he began to stand out with victories in regional and provincial events. On the track, he proved to be a versatile rider, adding titles in omnium, elimination, points race and scratch, in addition to winning the Valencian track league and the Alicante-Murcia challenge. Each triumph was a confirmation that the talent was there, accompanied by a competitive character and a huge enthusiasm to continue growing.

Spanish Champion and a Look to the Future
In 2024, his greatest success to date arrived: the title of Spanish children’s road champion. A victory that not only crowned his work and perseverance, but also showed his ability to perform under pressure in major events. Ximo sets no limits for himself. He is passionate about cyclocross, enjoys the track and feels free on the road. For him, the important thing is to be on the bike, whatever the modality. His goal is clear and ambitious: to become a professional cyclist. With the attitude and talent he has shown, the road is already underway.

A Story that Connects
Grassroots cycling is where great stories are born and Ximo represents that spirit. Effort, passion and a surprising maturity for his age. His example reflects how sport can forge character from an early age and how each pedal stroke is an opportunity to learn. Stories like his are what remind us why at RALI we believe in supporting young cyclists: because the future of cycling starts here, in the dreams of riders who still have the whole road ahead of them.
